Getting There

Plane

Qantas has direct flights from Melbourne, Sydney, and Darwin on most days, and from Brisbane twice a week. Virgin has direct flights from Adelaide, Darwin and Brisbane and indirect flights from the other capitals.


If you’re thinking of visiting Uluru, you can fly direct to Ayers Rock Airport with Jetstar and then travel to Alice Springs via bus transfer or self-drive.



Car

For those planning a road trip into the wild interior of Australia, there are two major sealed highways into Alice Springs. Either the Stuart Highway from Adelaide and Port Augusta from the south, and Darwin and Katherine to the north. Or, if you’re travelling from Queensland, the Barkly Highway connects through Mt. Isa and the Flinders Highway further west.

Bus

Greyhound Australia have an enormous network of buses across the country.

Train

The Ghan travels from Adelaide to Darwin on this overland railway adventure. The changing flora and desert landscape are spectacular.

There are bike paths from town to the Araluen Galleries. Walking is also an option from town. There are so many great things to see and do in the Red Centre.
